This was the 21st Whitsun get-together for the former Dulwich Hockey Club group of players, other halves and children. The journey since the Llanishen and Llandof Whitsun Hockey tournament has taken in weekends in Centre Parcs, Ludlow, Barnstable, Warlingham, Castletown, Purley on Thames and, of course, here in Beddgelert.
We have had a great time here, with “wall to wall” sunshine from start to finish – weather we have never had before during the 21 year weekends. We have taken in Port Merion, Port Madoc, the beach and several walks, along rivers and also up the mountains. We avoided 3000 or so walkers up Snowdon on the Sunday and opted instead for a much quieter experience elsewhere. Just as well, as when we drove past the 500 cars parked on the side of the road below Snowdon car park (which was full) all the cars had parking tickets from a helpful traffic warden!!
We would hope to be back another year as we have only just scratched the surface of what the house and area has to offer ………..
